An excellent tool for evaluating high resistance and insulation is the Metravi MMM-01 Analogue Million Megohm Meter.
It also functions as an insulation tester because it applies a very stable IC regulated H.T. up to 500VDC over the element being tested.
By applying a voltage to the sample under stress, it determines its insulating resistance. It can accurately read up to 10 million megohms (10 to power 14 ohms) and has a measurement range of 1 megohm to 10 million megohms in six decade intervals.
Low drift, low input bias current, and extremely steady performance are guaranteed by operational amplifiers. Linking or disconnecting HT from the terminal is made easier by a separate HT-NORM-RX switch with an amber light indicator. By applying fine and coarse H.T. settings and observing PSD, the HT may also be cross-checked and precisely positioned.
